*CAREGIVERS ASK:* *"When am I supposed to put them in a headlock?"* *"How much do baby-gates help?"* *"I hear 3 inch long deck screws can be a game changer! Which door should I apply them to first?"* *"It is true that a reliable babysitter is 'Murder, She Wrote' or is 'Golden Girls' better?"* *Yes, humor can be a great stress reliever. Don't take things personal. I know it's easier said than done not to get offended but it helps me to remember that like a feverish disease, I wouldn't get ticked off at someone for running a fever. So too, just remember they have little to no control over themselves and become more and more selfish like a child/baby. And don't joke directly with the afflicted one. Save your comedy for a confidant later after you vent and cry a bit. Peace be with all us caregivers.*

Thank you for WASTING 25 minutes of my time. I was hoping as a caregiver working in an assisted living facility, with dementia patients, this video would provide some solutions to deal with inappropriate sexual behaviors, it didn't. I think some of you so called "specialists" should come down off your pipe dream of finding someone to hold hands with or brush their hair is going to make a difference! You tell us they can't control/change/understand their actions, it's impulse, don't shame them. Really?? What should we tell the family of the resident he assaults? What if the resident is attacked for their inappropriate behaviors? Plus, this to be done by staff that is improperly trained and outnumbered. We are lucky to feed, bathe, medicate and toilet. DO BETTER, please!

What i may say may be different from this but I see similarity. My mom is in the hospital with a break down of oxygen and malnutrition and bad delerium in evening. She was trying to pull off her mask and tubes and for several nights I to sit and watch. I started out ok but one night felt I needed a different technique and was more firm with her. The next day she said I was mean to her. It was terrible. Now I am thinking I'm an awful daughter. So thank you ❤

In your first sentence, I disagreed with you because dementia CAN be reversed and you should look into the diet and nutrition of people with dimentia. Looking at you, ( no disrespect intended) you and your audience are all obese and that’s where it all begins! You all should know that, so before you even get going, you all need a class in nutrition and disease! Todays processed food is the cause of all disease! I will stop here because no sense saying more. Thank you!
